Pillar guide · Updated for 2027
Fetish clubs, big event weekends, munches, shops, community and private dungeons to hire: how London’s kink scene works, and how to enjoy it safely.
Dates and line-ups change every year: always confirm on the organiser’s own website before you travel.
Start with a munch: a relaxed, clothed meet-up is the easiest way into the community.
Fetish Weekend London (1–4 April 2027) is the biggest event of the year; book early.
Clubs have strict dress codes and house rules: read them before you go.
A private dungeon gives you privacy, equipment and time, from £120 at London Dungeon Suite.
Consent, a safeword, sobriety and aftercare apply everywhere.
In short: London has one of the most established fetish and BDSM scenes in Europe. You can dress up for a large club night such as Torture Garden, spend a long weekend at Fetish Weekend London in April, or meet like-minded people at a relaxed munch.
You can also shop for latex from British designers, or hire a fully equipped private dungeon for a few hours or a night. Whatever you choose, the same principles apply everywhere: clear consent, honest negotiation, respect for privacy and a plan for aftercare.
This guide is written for curious newcomers, couples and visiting players who want an honest overview rather than a list of adverts. It is written by the London Dungeon Suite Team and reviewed by Madame Caramel, an experienced professional dominatrix and trainer who co-organised Fetish Weekend London 2026 and hosts our Tower Bridge penthouse.
We only describe venues and events we know to be long-running and real, and we tell you where to check the details yourself.
One practical note before you start: a scene is not one single place.
Most people move between all three as their confidence grows.
London’s fetish club nights are glamorous, theatrical and, at the best events, very well run. They are not free-for-alls: each club publishes a dress code, a code of conduct and a door policy.
The people who enjoy them most are the ones who read those rules first.
Torture Garden has been running in London since 1990 and is one of the best-known fetish clubs in the world. Expect elaborate outfits, performance art, several rooms of music and designated play areas.
The dress code is strict (fetish, latex, leather, uniform, burlesque or creative costume), tickets usually sell in advance and the organisers publish clear guidance on consent and behaviour. Its seasonal parties, especially around Halloween and the new year, are among the busiest nights of the London calendar.
Club Black Whip (CBW) is a smaller, intimate femdom night that celebrates Black female dominance. Guests are vetted, numbers are limited (its 2025 return was capped at 40 places) and the house rules put consent first.
It is a good example of the scene’s many smaller, themed nights: less spectacle, more focus on real dynamics and etiquette.

A handful of multi-day events bring visitors to London from all over the world. Booking accommodation early matters, because hotels near the venues fill quickly and many travellers prefer somewhere discreet where they can get ready in private.
Fetish Weekend London returns from 1 to 4 April 2027 with four days of night parties, workshops and talks, socials and performances. There is also the Fetish Fair for latex and lifestyle brands, and a fetish-themed bus tour of London landmarks.
The 2026 edition was led by Madame Caramel and Mistress Tess, with the Fetish Fair curated by Charmskool. It is welcoming to first-timers and to every corner of the community, from latex and leather to rope and puppy play.
The Femdom Ball is an elegant, black-tie and ball-gown weekend celebrating female dominance. The 2025 weekend ran from 2 to 5 October; check the organiser’s site for the 2027 dates, etiquette and dress code.
For a month-by-month view, including where to stay before and after each event, see our London fetish events calendar for 2027.
If clubs feel like a big first step, start with a munch. A munch is an informal social meet-up, usually in a pub, bar or café, where people interested in BDSM chat over a drink or a meal.
Everyone is fully clothed, nothing kinky happens, and nobody expects you to share more than a first name or a scene name.
London has munches for many interests and identities, including groups for under-35s, women, LGBTQ+ people, rope enthusiasts and specific dynamics. Most are listed on kink social networks such as FetLife; read each group’s description and arrive on time so the organiser can introduce you.
Workshops and classes are the next step. Rope bondage classes, impact-play safety sessions, negotiation and consent workshops and dominatrix training are run across London by experienced educators, sometimes in hired private spaces.
Madame Caramel offers training for lifestyle and professional dommes who want to learn new skills; you can enquire at madamecaramelondon@gmail.com. Larger events such as Fetish Weekend London include talks and demonstrations, which are a low-pressure way to learn.
The LGBTQ+ scene has its own long history in London, with leather and rubber socials, queer-run club nights and inclusive munches. Our suite is LGBTQ+ friendly; read more on our LGBTQ+ page.

London is a good city for buying fetish wear, and it pays to buy well rather than often. Broadly, you will find four kinds of seller.
Britain has a strong latex tradition; labels such as House of Harlot and Catalyst Latex make garments to measure. Made-to-measure takes weeks, so order well before an event.
The Fetish Fair at Fetish Weekend London brings designers, makers and independent brands together under one roof, so you can try things on and talk to the people who make them.
For context and culture, the long-running British fetish magazine Skin Two is a useful read. And if you are unsure what you would actually use, try before you buy.
A private dungeon gives you hours with professional furniture, and our rubber wardrobe (from £50 per item) lets you wear high-end latex without buying it.
A private dungeon is a room or suite you hire for exclusive use, furnished with BDSM equipment such as benches, crosses, cages, stocks and restraint points. Unlike a club, nobody else is there: you set the pace, the music and the lighting.
Private hire suits couples exploring for the first time, professional dominatrices seeing clients, photographers and film-makers, workshop leaders and anyone who simply wants privacy and proper equipment.
London Dungeon Suite is one such space: a 1,200 sq ft penthouse on the top floor of a building moments from Tower Bridge Road and Bermondsey Street, London SE1, about half a mile from London Bridge station.
Daytime sessions run 11am–5pm from £120 for two hours, and overnight stays run 6pm–11am, priced on our prices page.

There is no single right way in, but newcomers who take it in stages tend to have the best experiences. Here is a sensible order that many people in London follow.
Write down what interests you, what you are curious about and what is a firm “no”. Share it with your partner if you have one; this list becomes the basis of every future negotiation.
Meet people in a relaxed setting, ask about the events they enjoy and which educators they trust. Nobody will expect you to know the vocabulary.
Book a beginner workshop, for example rope basics or impact-play safety, or attend talks at a larger event. Practising with guidance is far safer than learning from videos.
If you want atmosphere and dressing up, try a club night with a friend. If you want privacy, equipment and time to experiment at your own pace, hire a private dungeon for a few hours, ideally with a bedroom for aftercare.
Whichever route you choose, keep the pace gentle. The most experienced players in London are usually the most cautious: they negotiate in detail, they check in often and they never rush someone new.
If a person or venue pressures you to skip those steps, that is your cue to walk away.
The London scene has a strong safety culture, and the same habits protect you whether you are at a club, a party or a private dungeon.
Agree what you will and will not do before you start, and remember that anyone can stop at any time. Frameworks such as SSC (safe, sane, consensual) and RACK (risk-aware consensual kink) are good starting points for that conversation.
The traffic-light system (green, amber, red) is easy to remember. If speech may be difficult, agree a hand signal or an object to drop.
Alcohol and drugs blur judgement and consent. Keep it to a glass of something at most.
Safety shears for any restraint, a first-aid kit, water and something warm for afterwards.
When meeting someone new, tell a trusted friend where you are and when you will check in.
In England and Wales consent is not always a legal defence where real injury is caused, so keep play well within limits that leave no lasting harm.
Time to rest, talk, hydrate and warm up matters as much as the session itself; a quiet room or bedroom makes a real difference.
No photographs of others without explicit consent, and never share names or details from the scene.
For a step-by-step plan, read your first dungeon visit. Our own cleaning routine and house rules are explained on the hygiene and safety page.
Most London fetish events are in central and east London, and the Tube, night buses and black cabs make it easy to get home late. If you are dressed for a party, travel in ordinary clothes and change at the venue, or book a cab door to door.
Visitors coming for a long weekend often want more than a hotel room: a place to get ready, store outfits and recover in private. That is why many choose a private suite with a bedroom rather than a standard hotel.
London Dungeon Suite is close to London Bridge (Jubilee, Northern and National Rail), Bermondsey (Jubilee) and Borough (Northern). Our extended stays of two to seven days are popular with event-goers and touring dommes.
You can read more about the area on our location page.

Several private playspaces in London can be hired by the session or overnight. London Dungeon Suite is a 1,200 sq ft penthouse near Tower Bridge (SE1), with daytime sessions from £120 and overnight stays from 6pm to 11am. See our prices and use our checklist to compare venues.
Torture Garden is the best-known and is well organised, with clear rules on dress and consent, but it is big and busy. Many beginners prefer to attend a munch first, then a smaller themed night, before a large club party.
Fetish Weekend London 2027 runs from 1 to 4 April 2027, according to the organisers. Check fetishweekendlondon.com for the programme and tickets, and book accommodation early.
A munch is a casual, fully clothed social meet-up for people interested in BDSM, usually in a pub or café. There is no play and no dress code; it is simply a friendly way to meet the community.
Private, consensual activity between adults is generally a private matter, but in England and Wales consent is not always a legal defence where real injury is caused. Keep play safe, consensual and free of lasting harm, and take advice if you are unsure.
No. A well-equipped private dungeon provides furniture and a range of accessories; you can bring personal items if you prefer. At London Dungeon Suite a few specialist items and the rubber wardrobe are hired separately.
